DLF Retail anticipates a potential 20% surge in sales during the upcoming festive and wedding seasons. In an interview with Karishma Asoodani on Business Today Television, Pushpa Bector, Senior Executive Director and Head of DLF Retail, shares that footfall in DLF malls has significantly exceeded pre-COVID levels. Moreover, sales have witnessed a remarkable increase when compared to the pre-pandemic era. According to Ms Bector, factors such as the popularity of movies like "Jawaan" and the rise of the food and beverage sector have contributed to the increased consumer spending. In fact, retail segment sales have risen by almost 130% compared to 2022. The surge in demand can be attributed to the festive season and the surge in weddings, which have stimulated consumer consumption. When asked about the impact of inflationary pressures on consumer spending, Ms. Bector shared that the first quarter of this fiscal year experienced a slight decline, particularly in tier 2 and tier 3 cities. However, the situation has seen significant improvement in recent times.
