Exclusive: Dinesh Kumar Khara, Chairman, SBI On Q3 Results

India's largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), reported a 35.5% year-on-year decline in standalone net profit, amounting to ₹9,163 crore for the quarter ended December, after accounting for a one-time exceptional item of ₹7,100 crore. Net interest income (NII) for the third quarter rose 4.5% year-on-year to ₹39,815.73 crore, compared to ₹38,068.8 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The gross non-performing assets (NPA) ratio as of December end was 2.42%, a decrease from 2.55% in the previous quarter, with the net NPA remaining unchanged at 0.64%.
