In an exclusive conversation with India Today’s Preeti Choudhry, Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reflected on his 17 months in jail, discussing the personal and political challenges he faced. Sisodia acknowledged that while being in jail was inherently difficult, especially being separated from his ailing wife and unable to see his son, he found solace in his inner strength. He emphasized that the most challenging aspect was not the jail itself but the emotional toll of being cut off from his family and his usual 24-hour flow of information. Despite the physical and emotional hardships, Sisodia viewed his time in jail as an opportunity for self-reflection and growth. He described how his personal interactions were limited, with most of his time spent in solitary confinement. However, he managed to find comfort in his books and inner thoughts, which led him to a stronger resolve. Sisodia concluded that in a crisis, one has the choice to either break down or emerge stronger, and he chose the latter.
