External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar Reflects On 75 Years Of India-China Relations

Addressing the complex India-China relationship, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar acknowledged its 75-year history marked by cycles of conflict and cooperation. Speaking at the 'Discussion at Council on Foreign Relations' event in New York, he reflected on his tenure as ambassador in 2009-2013, witnessing changes in China and emphasizing the enduring challenges in the bilateral ties. Jaishankar noted that while the relationship has had historical conflicts, there has been no military combat fatality on the border since 1975, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.
