Punjab National Bank (PNB) introduces UPI 123PAY, an IVR-based UPI solution enabling offline payments in low internet connectivity zones. Developed by NPCI, UPI 123PAY allows users with any type of phone to perform UPI transactions without internet access. PNB customers can dial the easy-to-remember IVR number and follow simple steps to authenticate transactions. With a focus on rural and semi-urban areas, PNB aims to provide payment convenience to those who rely on cash. The multilingual UPI 123PAY service is also available for non-PNB customers. IDFC First Bank, City Union Bank, and NSDL Payments Bank have adopted similar IVR payments.
