Savagely assaulted and left bleeding on the airport floor, a passenger’s routine journey turned into a nightmare. At Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1, SpiceJet flyer Ankit Dewan was brutally attacked by an Air India Express pilot, allegedly after a verbal spat. The horrifying incident unfolded in full public view, with Ankit’s seven-year-old daughter witnessing the assault and breaking down in tears. As her injured father lay bleeding, family members tried to console the traumatised child. Ankit later narrated the sequence of events to India Today, explaining why he did not immediately file a complaint. The airline has since grounded the pilot and ordered an internal probe, while the civil aviation ministry has sought a detailed report.
