Impact Of Art 370 J&K Verdict, Rajdeep Sardesai Talks To Top Jurist Fali Nariman

Eminent jurist Fali Nariman reacts to the Supreme Court verdict upholding the abrogation of Article 370 which had conferred special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. In an exclusive interview with India Today Group's Rajdeep Sardesai, Nariman said he did not agree with the verdict adding that the right process to remove the provisions under Article 370 would have been to amend them under the provisions of Article 368 which gives Parliament the power to amend the Constitution. On the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories, Fali Nariman said he considers it "incorrect" that the bench which delivered the verdict relied on a judgment from 1960.
