India and France in negotiation for a second deal involving the Rafale jet. India and France are negotiating a Rs 50,000-crore deal for 26 Rafale Marine (Rafale M) fighter jets, not for the Indian Air Force, but for the Navy. If finalized, these aircraft will be deployed on the Indian Navy's aircraft carriers, INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya. All 36 Rafale jets, which were procured by the Indian government in 2016, are currently in service.
