India Lodges Strong Protest Against Allegations Of Subsidised Rice Exports By Thailand

Rice has turned into a major bone of contention at the ongoing WTO ministerial conference in Abu Dhabi. In what could turn into a full-fledged trade war, India has strongly objected to statements by Thailand about export of subsidised rice by India. The Indian delegation, led by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, has also objected to inclusion of investment in the WTO talks.
