In response to a question by Naveen Jindal in the Lok Sabha, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar addressed India's stance on improving relations with Pakistan. Jaishankar emphasized that, like any neighbor, India desires good ties with Pakistan but insists on a relationship free from terrorism. He made it clear that the onus is on Pakistan to demonstrate a change in behavior, as India has already taken a clear position on this matter. Jaishankar also commented on trade disruptions caused by Pakistan’s 2019 decisions, reiterating that India remains agnostic but believes the ball is in Pakistan’s court for improving relations.
