Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, at the inauguration of the Global Standards Symposium in Delhi, emphasized the significance of 6G technology as a gateway to the future. He described the dawn of 6G networks as a transformative era where communication becomes limitless, innovation knows no boundaries, and humanity's interconnectedness shapes global progress. Scindia stressed the importance of creating a comprehensive policy framework guided by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) that addresses both technical demands and the socio-economic implications of 6G. He highlighted the need for a regulatory environment that promotes inclusivity, equity, and accessibility, ensuring these technologies benefit society at large. Reflecting on India’s digital achievements, such as the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Aadhaar, Scindia pointed to the nation’s leadership in driving digital inclusion across regions like Africa and Asia through global partnerships. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of balancing privacy, transparency, and governance to ensure these innovations act as a force for good. Scindia called for collaborative efforts across governments, regulators, and industries to enhance governance frameworks, paving the way for technologies like 6G to foster sustainable growth and digital empowerment. This vision, he noted, will unlock a future where communication and connectivity become integral to global progress.
