India has signed a Bilateral Haj Agreement for 2024 with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) regarding the Haj pilgrimage in 2024. A total quota of 175,025 pilgrims from India has been finalized for this year's Haj, with 140,020 seats reserved for pilgrims proceeding through the Haj Committee of India and 35,005 for pilgrims through Haj Group Operators. However, Union Minority Affairs Minister Smriti Irani's visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where she stood tall sporting a bindi and wearing a saree, has caused a meltdown among fundamentalists, not just in Pakistan.
