Donald Trump, the consummate deal-maker, went all out to pressure India on trade concessions during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2-day visit to Washington DC. He announced the implementation of ‘reciprocal tariffs’ just hours ahead of his meeting with PM Modi. The tariffs which will hit Indian businesses were first mentioned about a fortnight ago.
