Noida International Airport, set to open by April 17, 2025, will begin operations with approximately 30 flights on its first day, including three international and two cargo flights. The runway construction has been completed, and the process of acquiring a commercial flight license is underway. A trial run of the runway is scheduled from November 15 to December 15, with flights from airlines like Akasa and IndiGo being tested during this period. The data from these trials will be submitted to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for approval, after which an aerodrome license will be issued. This license is expected to be obtained by March 2025, enabling flights to begin. The CEO of Yamuna Authority, Arunveer Singh, confirmed that international flights will require approval from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) before they commence. The airport plans to operate both domestic and international flights, with major routes to cities like Dubai, Singapore, and Zurich, as well as major Indian cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Lucknow. The airport is designed to manage 200-250 flights per day, ensuring it can handle significant traffic once fully operational.
