In a conversation with ANI's Smita Prakash, Nripendra Misra , a pivotal figure in the administrative corridors during the demonetisation period, unveils the identity of the very first individual privy to this historic financial move. His disclosure sheds light on the beginnings of this policy shift, offering unprecedented insights into the genesis of one of India's most momentous economic decisions. Misra, an IAS officer of the 1967 batch, boasts a career spanning over 52 years with diverse roles. He served as the former Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and currently chairs the committee overseeing the construction of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He also held the position of Chairperson, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India and was honoured with India's third-highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan, in 2021.
