SEBI Chairman Lays Out Multi-Pronged Approach To Developing, De-Risking Non-Agri Commodity Space

Watch Tuhin Kanta Pandey lay out his vision for not only the Indian metals market but also for critical minerals. Speaking at the MCX event ‘METALS: From Mines to Markets’, the SEBI chairman assured the industry that strengthening India’s commodity market is high on the regulator’s development agenda and that a working group will be in place soon for non-agriculture commodity space. Pandey said the multi-pronged approach to metals included ensuring the integrity and safety of the market, its development and innovation, a tight regulatory framework, allowing FPIs into non-cash settled, non-agri commodity derivatives contracts as well as resolving the various tax challenges faced by the sector.
