Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan was engaged in a heated argument with Ness Wadia, the co-owner of Punjab Kings, for retention and mega auction, India Today learnt through sources in BCCI. Indian Premier League (IPL) defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) owner Shah Rukh Khan was engaged in a heated argument with Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia over the player retention rule for the upcoming season of the tournament. KKR will look to defend their title in the upcoming season. however, they are still looking for their new head coach because Gautam Gambhir has left the franchise after he was appointed as India's head coach. Earlier, there was a rule that a franchise can retain four players but KKR owner and Bollywood superstar was in favour of major retentions. According to a top BCCI source who was part of the meeting, Shah Rukh was fiercely making the case against mega auctions. At one stage, the KKR owner was also believed to be engaged in a heated argument with Ness Wadia, the co-owner of Punjab Kings, over number of retentions. The mega auction in IPL is held every three years to give the teams a chance to rebuild the team.
