The Finance Secretary Is Certain That The Rs 10 Lakh Cr Capex Target For FY24 Would Be Met

While speaking at the BT Budget 2023 Roundtable, T.V. Somanathan, the Finance Secretary, expressed confidence that the Rs 10 lakh crore capital expenditure target outlined in the Budget is well within reach. He also added that the three main areas for maximum spending are - railways, highways, and some specific sectors, like the petroleum sector. Meanwhile, In a conversation with Sidharth Zarabi, Managing Editor, Business Today Television, Revenue Secretary, Sanjay Malhotra says ‘the new regime is more attractive for the taxpayers, and the government is giving benefits to one and all when it comes to taxes’.
