Heavy rains and flooding have paralyzed life in the southern districts of Tamil Nadu. A massive rescue and relief operation is underway with the assistance of defense forces to evacuate people. As of now, three persons have been confirmed dead, and three more are feared dead. Paddy fields, roads, and bridges are submerged, and many residential colonies are under sheets of water as heavy rains wreak havoc. Roads are cut off in several regions of southern Tamil Nadu due to breaches in lakes and flooding.
