U.S. Ambassador Eric Garcetti Highlights Quad's Role In Indo-Pacific Cooperation, Climate Solutions

In New York, US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, highlighted the importance of the Quad alliance, emphasizing its shared vision for a free, open, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. Garcetti explained that the Quad, comprising the US, India, Japan, and Australia, focuses on collective cooperation in areas like healthcare, security, and economic development. He stressed the need for stronger collaboration on supply chains, ensuring that no single country can dominate critical resources like minerals. The US and India alone have committed $1 billion to finding climate solutions, particularly as both nations have nearly 900 million climate-vulnerable people. Garcetti assured that the Quad is not meant to threaten any country but to uphold principles and solve common challenges. By working together, the Quad inspires others, offering benefits to the entire Indo-Pacific region while standing firm on values like the rule of law and multilateral cooperation.
