U.S. Lawmakers Highlight India–U.S. Trade Strains; Push Fresh Trade Deal Amid China Concerns

Meanwhile, Representative Bill Huizenga praised India’s rapid economic rise and urged a fresh trade deal between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi to ensure a level playing field for American companies. Both lawmakers stressed that deeper India–US economic cooperation is essential to counterbalance China and strengthen the Indo-Pacific.
