Uttarkashi Syanachatti: Water From Debris Lake Reaches Populated Areas, NDRF On Ground

Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand): Water from an artificial lake formed by debris on the Yamuna River in Syanachatti (Barkot tehsil) has begun reaching populated areas. Overnight inflows surged, submerging two-storey houses in low-lying zones, and the entire market has been evacuated as a precaution. NDRF, SDRF and the district administration are on the ground to mitigate risk, monitor seepage, and manage controlled evacuations.
