AAP MP Raghav Chadha made a strong case in Parliament for rewarding patient domestic capital, warning that India’s investment ecosystem is being overtaxed. He pointed out that between January and December 2025, foreign portfolio investors pulled out ₹1.6 lakh crore, while domestic investors stepped in with a historic ₹7 lakh crore to stabilise markets. Chadha said this proved the strength and maturity of Indian investors, yet long-term savings continue to be penalised through taxation. Calling for a shift in policy, he urged higher tax-free limits on bank interest, incentives for long-term fixed deposits, and fair treatment of long-term capital gains. He stressed that India must nurture investments, not discourage wealth creation.
