Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued a stern warning to the Hindu community in India, urging unity in the face of growing challenges. His blunt message, "batenge to katenge" (if you divide, you will perish), was ostensibly aimed at preventing Hindus from suffering the same fate as the minority community in Bangladesh. Adityanath referenced the violence that erupted against Hindus in Bangladesh after the overthrow of Sheikh Hasina's regime, where Islamists targeted minority Hindus. The BJP defended Yogi's remarks, emphasizing the importance of unity for the safety and security of India. However, opposition parties, including the Samajwadi Party and Congress, sharply criticized the statement, accusing Yogi of using divisive rhetoric to gain political power. This is not the first time Yogi has targeted the opposition; he previously criticized them for addressing the war in Gaza while remaining silent on the plight of Bangladeshi Hindus. As the debate intensifies, questions arise about whether Yogi's comments are a divisive tactic or a necessary call to action to prevent potential turmoil and destruction within the country.
