India has issued its first response to the rapidly escalating West Asia conflict after days of silence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that military confrontation alone cannot resolve global crises and called for dialogue and diplomacy. The response came after a U.S. strike sank an Iranian warship near Sri Lanka, bringing the conflict closer to India’s maritime region. India also conveyed condolences over the killing of Ali Khamenei, with Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri signing the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy in New Delhi, while S. Jaishankar held talks with Iran’s foreign minister.
