Joint Secretary (Gulf) at the Ministry of External Affairs, Aseem Mahajan said India is closely monitoring the situation in West Asia and the Gulf through a dedicated MEA control room working with Indian missions in the region. Updated advisories are being issued regularly on travel, flights, consular services and local guidelines. Flights to India continue from countries where airspace remains open. The Indian Embassy in Tehran has already helped 2,358 Indian nationals move from Iran to Armenia and Azerbaijan for onward travel to India. Meanwhile, with Israel’s airspace only partially open, Indian nationals are being assisted to return through Jordan and Egypt.
