India’s Q1 FY27 GDP growth is expected to come in at around 7.2%, a one-year low, raising concerns over a potential slowdown despite India remaining one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies. Ajay Bagga, Sr. Market Veteran, says India needs stronger growth to stay on track for the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. He highlights the US-Iran conflict, higher oil, gas and fertiliser import costs, weaker remittance flows and Middle East export pressures as key challenges. GST cuts, government infrastructure spending, power investments and data centre activity are providing support. Monsoon trends and rural demand will remain crucial for the economy.
