India To Achieve Full Defence Self-Reliance In 15-20 Years: Rajnath Singh

Addressing an event in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh highlighted the growing role of Indian startups in strengthening the country’s defence ecosystem. He said several startups are doing remarkable work in defence manufacturing and innovation, significantly reducing India’s dependence on imports. The Defence Minister expressed confidence that India will achieve complete self-reliance in weapons and defence equipment within the next 15 to 20 years. Emphasising the broader economic impact, Rajnath Singh said India is firmly on track to become one of the top three economies in the world by 2030. He credited policy reforms, indigenous manufacturing and a strong innovation ecosystem for accelerating India’s defence capabilities and economic growth.
