Google has released its 13th annual report, Google Zeitgeist, focusing on what grabbed our attention in 2013. Most searched mobile brands also found their way the report. We list out these brands which garnered maximum attention in 2013.

Lava International, which was established in 2009 manufactures brands such as ETAB series of tablets, IRIS series of Android based smartphones, Discover series of Internet experience touch phones, Spark series of premium bar phones and ARC & KKT series of feature rich budget phones.  The firm has been ranked tenth in the list of most searched smartphones brands on Google.

Karbonn Mobiles, which is a joint venture between Delhi-based Jaina Group and Bangalore-based UTL Group, recently launched 2G and 3G-enabled smartphones in the range of Rs 5,500-7,500 range. The Karbonn brand has been ranked ninth in the list of most  searched smartphones brand on Google.

BlackBerry, the financially troubled smartphone and tablet-maker, is eight on the report by Google. The  company which recently abandoned plans for its sale, has lost market share to rivals such as Apple, Microsoft, Nokia and Dell among others.

Google  Nexus: Nexus , a line of mobile devices co-developed by Google and several original equipment manufacturer partners, runs the Android operating system. The latest devices in the series are the Nexus 5 phone by Google and LG Electronics, and the second-generation Nexus 7 tablet computer by Google and Asus. The Nexus brand ranks seventh in the list.

HTC: Taiwan-based HTC, which was founded in 1997, finds sixth position in the list of most searched smartphones brands on Google. The company, which recently unveiled HTC One and HTC One Max, plans to unveil 4G phones in India in 2014.

Sony: Sony Mobile Communications has been ranked fourth by Google in its 13th annual report. The firm which sports smartphones such as Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra is a subsidiary of leading electronics appliances manufacturer Sony Corporation.

Indian consumer electronics company Micromax engaged in the manufacturing of mobile phones, tablet computers, 3G datacards and LED Televisions ranks third in Google's list of most searched mobile brands.

Once a dominant player in wireless devices, the mobile phone maker has seen its global market share shrink as it battles stiff competition from Apple and Google in the lucrative smartphone trade.

Samsung recently toppled Nokia to become the world's No.1 handset seller across all continents in the third quarter, winning the title for the first time in the company's history, a report by US-based market researcher Strategic Analytics said.
