Idea offers unlimited voice calls and data to counter Jio's growth
All thanks to Reliance Jio's entry, all major telecom operators are slashing prices of their existing tariffs by almost half.

In the last few weeks, India's cellular network industry has seen a tremendous shift in prices of schemes and tariffs. All thanks to Reliance Jio's entry, all major telecom operators are slashing prices of their existing tariffs by almost half. After Airtel and Vodafone, its Idea that is trying to keep up with the tariff race.
The Indian company has revealed a new price list for its Idea customers.
The user will be able to make free local and STD Idea to Idea calls, get 50 MB of data with a recharge of Rs 148. If the recharge is done on a 4G device, user will get an additional 300MB of data along with the voice calling benefits.
Another recharge of Rs 348 will allow users to make free local and STD calls on any network in the country. Non-4G customers will get 50MB data with the pack and 4G phone customers will get an additional 1GB data. Both voice calling plans will be valid for 28 days.Jio started a tariff war which has led to drastic reduction in cellular data prices in the country. The Mukesh Ambani-owned company extended the free service tenure to March 2017. This led to another round of aggressive price cutting in other cellular networks. Jio has dented the sales revenue of the incumbent telecom giants of the country.
