Employment rate of urban women halves in 5 years

Only 8.4% of India's urban women of 15 years or more were employed in 2018-19. This fell to 7.3% in 2019-20 and it has fallen to less than 6% in 2020-21. It was at 5.4% in Feb 2021, signaling a negligible recovery from the pandemic-hit low of 5% in April 2020.
