Cigarette buyers could feel another pinch at the counter as prices of popular brands from Gold Flake to Classic have increased. The latest revision comes after cigarettes had already become more expensive following the introduction of a 40% GST from February 1.

The price increase becomes particularly visible with Classic Connect. According to a Business Today report based on dealer checks, the maximum retail price of a 20 cigarette pack has climbed from ₹390 to ₹428, making each purchase noticeably more expensive.

Gold Flake Super Star buyers are also paying more. A pack of 10 cigarettes that earlier carried a price of ₹79 now costs ₹89, according to the report, translating into a ₹10 increase on a relatively small pack and another hit for regular consumers.
