₹3,000 crore gamble
Can a mythological epic rewrite India's box-office history? Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, is heading for a massive Diwali opening. Film exhibitor Vishek Chauhan believes the film could collect ₹2,500–3,000 crore if it connects with devotees. But a blockbuster cast and enormous scale alone may not guarantee that kind of success.

Opening frenzy
A ₹100-crore opening day for Ramayana? Sameer Munshi of Miraj Entertainment expects the film to earn ₹75–80 crore nett, or around ₹100 crore gross, across Indian languages on Day 1. Cinépolis has already sold more than one lakh tickets and scheduled over 1,600 opening-day shows. But the Diwali calendar could complicate the film's biggest weekend.

Faith factor
What if film critics have little influence over Ramayana's box-office fate? Exhibitor Vishek Chauhan argues that audiences will approach the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer differently from conventional blockbusters because of their devotion to Lord Ram. He calls it potentially critic-proof cinema. But the film's real test could be whether that emotional connection translates into repeat ticket sales.

Ticket shock
Would you spend ₹3,000 to watch Ramayana on the big screen? Exhibitor Akshaye Rathi says premium IMAX tickets are priced around ₹3,000 or higher in some cases, even as regular tickets start near ₹200. With advance bookings showing strong interest in IMAX and 3D, the film is attracting premium-format audiences. But can its premium appeal coexist with the family crowds needed for a historic run?

Southern showdown
Yash and Sai Pallavi may not be enough to guarantee Ramayana a smooth ride in southern cinemas! Trade expert Ramesh Bala expects the film to earn ₹30–40 crore from the South, where regional releases Scene and Mookuthi Amman 2 are competing for attention. Karnataka is showing stronger interest, helped by Yash's popularity. Could word of mouth determine whether the film breaks through beyond its Hindi-speaking audience?
