Ultimate Ear's (UE) third offering in India, Megaboom, is designed for a grand outdoor experience. The wireless Bluetooth speaker is 8.9-inch tall and weighs 877 gms. The cylindrical speaker has the power button and Bluetooth button at the top, large volume keys (+ and -) prominently placed on the body, and the micro USB port for charging, 3.5-mm aux-in port, tripod mount insert and the micro USB port at the bottom. Once paired, the UE Megaboom app for iOS and Android smartphones offers additional control for equalizer, setting up alarm (waking up to your favourite songs) and pairing with other UE speakers.

Megaboom has two two-inch drives and two passive radiators that yield 360-degree immersive sound. The overall sound quality is top-notch with impactful bass and clear vocals. The treble is distinct and can be adjusted using the Equalizer app. It also supports gesture controls - hold the speaker upright and tap the top to play/pause music or to skip tracks instead of reaching for the phone. During our testing, the Megaboom lived up to its claims of being waterproof (IP67 certified) and drop-proof. It lasted close to 18 hours on a single charge, playing music at high volume. This stylish speaker, priced at Rs 19,995, is a good buy and could potentially become the talk of the party.
