The just released GDP numbers for the first quarter of FY19 - showing 8.2 per cent growth- have come as a relief for the government. However, while the recovery is robust, it still depends too much on the government's spending - and also to an extent on a favourable base effect. The government needs to make sure that it can keep the momentum going.
