Villagers refuse to wear masks in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district

The Delta variant of COVID-19 was a major contributor to the second wave of infections. Now, the sub-lineage Delta Plus strain has emerged, which has been designated a variant of concern by the central government. Maharashtra has so far reported 21 Delta Plus cases and one death. The state government is closely monitoring the situation and claims to be on alert mode. Of the state’s 21 cases, nine came from Ratnagiri district. There is a lack of awareness about the virus in the area, with people being hesitant towards vaccination and wearing masks. Watch the video for more.
