The Toyota Urban Cruiser has secured a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The rebadged Vitara Brezza costs from Rs 8.87 lakh to Rs 11.58 lakh (ex-showroom), and is available in three trims: Mid, High, and Premium.

Toyota offers compact SUV Urban Cruiser with the same engine as seen on the Maruti Vitara Brezza - a 1.5-litre petrol engine (paired with 5-speed manual and 4-speed torque converter options) that produces 105PS and 138Nm.

The Hyundai i20 has scored 3-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests and is priced between Rs 6.98 lakh and Rs 11.48 lakh (ex-showroom).Hyundai i20comes in four trims — Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).

The carmaker offers the i20 with two petrol and one diesel engine, the same as the Venue. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine is paired to a 5-speed manual and an optional CVT, while the 1-litre turbo-petrol gets a 6-speed iMT and a 7-speed DCT. The 1.5-litre diesel unit is available with a 6-speed manual only.

The Honda Jazz has scored 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. The carmaker retails the hatchback between Rs 7.78 lakh and Rs 10.09 lakh (ex-showroom) and is available in three trims: V, VX, and ZX.

The Jazz is a petrol-only offering; gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine, mated to a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 7-step CVT. Honda claims that the Jazz’s fuel efficiency is 16.6kmpl and 17.1kmpl, respectively.

The Nissan Magnite has scored 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests and is priced from Rs 5.76 lakh to Rs 10.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The company offers the sub-4m SUV in six trims: XE, XL, XV Executive, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O).

The Magnite gets two petrol engine options - a naturally aspirated 1-litre and a 1-litre turbo-petrol. Both are mated to a 5-speed manual, while the turbo unit also gets the choice of a CVT.

The Renault Kiger has scored 4-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. The carmaker, which had launched the MY22 Kiger recently, costs between Rs 5.84 lakh and Rs 10.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Kiger is offered in five trims - RXE, RXL, RXT, RXT (O), and RXZ.

The Kiger comes with a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine, both paired to a 5-speed manual as standard. The former gets an optional AMT, while the 1-litre turbo-petrol gets the option of a 5-speed CVT transmission.

The Tata Punch has scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests and retails between Rs 5.67 lakh and 9.48 lakh (ex-showroom). It is sold in four trims - Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative.

Tata Punch gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine (86PS/113Nm) as the Altroz, coupled with a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT.

Renault has equipped the MPV with a 1-litre petrol engine, mated to a 5-speed manual as standard and an optional 5-speed AMT. A 1-litre turbo-petrol engine for the Triber might be launched soon, which will likely come paired with a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic.

Tata has equipped Tiago with a 1.2-litre petrol engine paired with a standard 5-speed manual and an optional 5-speed AMT. A CNG kit is also available with the petrol engine with only a 5-speed MT.

The Mahindra XUV300 has scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. The sub-4m SUV is priced from Rs 8.16 lakh to 13.67 lakh (ex-showroom) and can be had in four trims - W4, W6, W8, and W8(O).

Mahindra has equipped the XUV300 with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. A 6-speed MT is standard for both, with an optional AMT gearbox.

The Tata Altroz has scored 5-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. The premium hatchback is priced between Rs 5.99 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and is sold in seven trims - XE, XE+, XM+, XT, XZ, XZ (O), and XZ+.

In terms off engine options, the car gets 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. A 5-speed manual is standard, while the naturally aspirated petrol unit also gets an optional 6-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCA).

The Maruti Suzuki WagonR has scored 2-stars in the Global NCAP crash tests. Maruti retails the car between Rs 5.39 lakh and Rs 7.1 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers four trims - LXi, VXi, ZXi, and ZXi+.   The Wagon R is powered by 1-litre and 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engines. Both engines have idle engine-start/stop tech and get both a standard 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT.

The CNG kit is available with the 1-litre engine, where it makes. It can only be had with the 5-speed MT. Maruti is also offering a CNG kit on the base-spec LXi and the second-from-base VXi trims.

The compact hatchback gets a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed MT and an optional 5-speed AMT. The carmaker also offers a CNG kit (limited to the Magna and Sportz), but only with the manual transmission.

The Nexon gets two turbocharged engines 1.2-litre petrol (120PS/170Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel, each paired with a standard 6-speed MT and an optional 6-speed AMT.
