The Supreme Court on Thursday said that the recommendations of the GST Council are not binding on the Union and the states. Parliament intended the recommendation to have persuasive value, it said. The Parliament and state legislatures have simultaneous powers to legislate on GST, it said.

CRISIL's Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk assessment of 586 Indian companies across 53 sectors revealed only one-fifth of the companies have published their sustainability report. Of the 53 sectors covered, service companies including IT, lending, and auto OEMs are the leaders in terms of ESG disclosures, whereas chemicals, mining, construction EPC, and transport infrastructure are not good with disclosures.

Indian Gen Zs and millennial generations are more optimistic about the economic and sociopolitical situation than the global average, according to a survey. About 28 per cent of Indian millennials are concerned about unemployment, and 25 per cent of Gen Zs consider education, skills, and training as the top concern areas, stated Deloitte’s 2022 Gen Z and Millennial Survey.

Co-working spaces witnessed an 8 per cent growth on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, a report by real estate researchers, Anarock has revealed. Out of a net 34.1 million sq. ft. office space leased this year, 13 per cent so far has been taken up by co-working spaces which approximately comes to around 4.43 mn sq.ft.

The Indian PC market shipped over 4.3 million units in the first quarter of 2022 (Jan-March), registering a year-on-year (YoY) growth of 37.7 per cent. Of the total shipments, notebook shipments amounted to 3.1 million units, and the desktop category saw more than a million units for the first time since the third quarter of 2014, showed data from market intelligence firm IDC.
