The government is planning to introduce the fugitive offenders' bill in the next session of the parliament. The bill has been prepared by the economic affairs ministry and has been vetted by the law ministry already. The bill will allow the government to confiscate and appropriate properties and assets of fugitive offenders; Vodafone global CEO Vittorio Colao has slammed the new Trai order on pricing, saying that it favours its rival Reliance Jio. He also said that it should be legally challenged in the court of law; Punjab National Bank, which is battling the Nirav Modi fraud case, has now informed the exchanges that the quantum of illegal transactions on its network may be about $200 million higher than what it had originally suspected.
