Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 crosses ₹400 crore worldwide : What box-office figures actually measure

Sacnilk’s page, updated on October 19 at 1:03 pm IST, puts Jailer 2’s first four days through October 18 at ₹424.25 crore worldwide gross. This is the tracker’s estimate for that reporting period, not an audited lifetime total.

Sacnilk lists ₹199.90 crore India net against ₹234.25 crore India gross for the same period. Its glossary defines net as theatrical revenue after applicable indirect taxes are excluded. Those two domestic numbers therefore use different measures of ticket revenue.

The tracker reports ₹190 crore overseas gross. Adding that to ₹234.25 crore India gross gives ₹424.25 crore worldwide gross. Do not add the overseas amount again to the worldwide number, because it is already included in that total.

The reported ₹55.85 crore India net refers to Sunday, October 18 alone. It is different from the four-day India net total. A useful comparison needs the same period and measure: one day against one day, or opening weekend against opening weekend.

Jailer 2 opened on Thursday, October 15, making the figures discussed here a four-day period ending Sunday. When comparing another release, establish whether its quoted weekend covers three days, four days or previews before treating the totals as directly equivalent.

Sacnilk says its figures can evolve as additional tracked activity becomes available, and that its totals are independent of producer announcements. Keep the tracker, date, territory and gross-or-net label attached when sharing a number; a bare crore figure loses essential context.
