The Agriculture Industry held a pre-budget consultation with the Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman today. As a part of their proposals, the industry has sought an additional allocation towards the PM Kisan scheme. The farmers association has also asked for increased focus on food & fertilizer subsidy.  The Interim Budget for 2024-2025 set the subsidy allocation at Rs 4.1 lakh crore, 7% lower than the revised estimate of Rs 4.41 lakh crore for 2023-2024.
