With West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee causing a political uproar and walking out of the Niti Aayog annual meeting in Delhi and accusing the government of not letting her speak by muting her mic, battlelines are drawn on yet another issue between the government and opposition parties. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman fired a massive salvo at the West Bengal CM, claiming that she was “spreading falsehoods” and that every chief minister was given “allotted due time to speak”. The FM fact-checked the chief minister saying that the systems in the room had all the allotted times sorted out and that Mamata “should speak the truth behind the matter rather than build a narrative based on falsehood”.
