US-Israel-Iran War Live: Emirates suspends all flights to, from Dubai; Iran to not invade its neighbours

The Dubai International Airport on Saturday temporarily suspended flight operations to ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and airline cabin crews.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday had a telephonic conversation with Iran's Masoud Pezeshkian. In this conversation, Putin called for the immediate cessation of hostilities, echoing Moscow's stance on the crisis. He further said that disputes involving Iran should not be resolved through force, while calling for a return to political and diplomatic solutions. 

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a televised address on Saturday that Tehran has decided to stop attacks on neighbouring countries and has no intention of invading them. He also apologised to them and said that Iran would not surrender to the US under pressure. 

Pezeshkian added that Iran respects the sovereignty of its neighbours and seeks stability in the region despite ongoing conflict. 

Commenting on the US' attack on Iranian frigate IRIS Dena, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, "Iranians ships were on fleet review but got on the wrong side of events; we allowed Iran ship to enter due to humanitarian concern, we did the right thing."

Emirates suspended all flights to and from Dubai until further notice. The airline has been operating limited services from Dubai and Abu Dhabi via safe air corridors. 

Israeli airstrikes targeting the town of Nabi in the eastern Bekaa Valley have left at least 12 people dead and 33 wounded, Al Jazeera reported, citing the Lebanese Health Ministry. 

These strikes occur as hostilities escalate, positioning Lebanon as a primary theater in the broader conflict between Israel, Iran, and the United States. Local authorities report that since the situation intensified, the death toll in Lebanon has surpassed 200, with approximately 95,000 residents forced to flee their homes.

According to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), over 80 Israeli fighter jets conducted overnight strikes across Iran and dropped around 230 munitions on several military targets. The operation targeted facilities linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps including a military university, missile launch infrastucture, and an underground complex used for storing and producing ballistic missiles, Al Jazeera reported. 

• Witnesses informed Reuters of several loud blasts heard across the city. This incident follows closely on the heels of reported explosions occurring near the Zayed International Airport in the UAE earlier this week.
• Following Israel’s announcement of "broad-scale" operations against Iranian government facilities, Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was reportedly targeted in a series of air raids during the early hours of Saturday morning.
• Antiaircraft defenses were activated in the Bekaa Valley following reports of a potential Israeli military landing. Intense skirmishes have also broken out between Israeli special forces and Hezbollah combatants near Nabi Chit, marking a sharp rise in regional hostilities.
• According to Al Jazeera, a wave of Iranian ballistic missiles has forced millions of Israelis into bomb shelters overnight.
• Local authorities confirmed at least five separate missile detections since midnight and experts believe these staggered launches are a deliberate tactic to maintain civilian psychological pressure and paralyze routine activities.

To ensure that maritime trade continues to flow through the critical Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. government has introduced a $20 billion reinsurance initiative for shipping losses in the Gulf. This move comes in response to recent disturbances affecting oil and liquefied natural gas tankers passing through this strategic channel, which facilitates roughly one-fifth of the globe's daily oil supply. Under the direction of President Donald Trump, the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will oversee this support by offering financial guarantees and political risk insurance to stabilize transit in the region.

Saudi Arabia's Defence Ministry said that its air defences have intercepted around 6 drones heading towards the Shaybah oil field and one drone targeting the capital city of Riyadh, according to Al Jazeera.

Officials confirmed that all the threats were neutralised. Qatar, on the other hand, reported that 10 drones were launched from Iran. The Qatari Defence Ministry said that of these, 9 were intercepted whereas one landed in a remote area without reported damage or casualties. 

The Indian Embassy in Qatar has activated additional 24x7 helpline numbers to help stranded Indian nationals, given the volatile security situation in West Asia. The Embassy also shared an email ID for stranded Indian nationals.

Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that the Shehbaz Sharif-led government has raised petrol and diesel rates by PKR 55 per litre when tensions across West Asia have shattered energy markets and triggered fears of supply disruptions. 

According to ARY News, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) asked the debt-ridden country to raise petrol and diesel prices immediately.

Domestic carrier IndiGo will operate flights to and from the Dubai Airport, Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah Airport, Fujairah International Airport, and Akrotiri Airport today to evacuate stranded Indians. 

The SoPs issued by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways state that Port Chairpersons should have periodical meetings to monitor the situation. As per the SOPs, each Port should appoint a Nodal officer as the Single point of Contact for addressing all issues, and give priority consideration to export cargo returning from the Middle East.

Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that it detected fresh missile launches from Iran targeting Greater Tel Aviv and parts of central Israel. As defence systems prepared to intercept the incoming threats, air raid sirens were activated, Al Jazeera reported. 

Iranian officials have dismissed recent remarks by Donald Trump suggesting an "unconditional surrender" of Tehran and that the US could influence the selection of Iran's next Supreme Leader, according to Al Jazeera. 

Iranian leaders have reaffirmed that choosing the country's Supreme Leader is solely the reponsibility of the Assembly of Experts. Tehrna has reacted with ridicule and confidence towards Trump's remarks.
