Hero MotoCorp eyes 20 per cent market share in scooter segment
Hero's current scooter capacity is 1.3 million units per year, with production of more than 6.5 lakh scooters.

With the launch of new scooter 'Duet', Hero MotoCorp is expecting to increase market share in the segment to 20 per cent from 14 per cent now, a senior company official said on Saturday.
The company has a market share of 14 per cent in the segment, with 100cc Pleasure and 110cc Maestro, which are consistently among the top three best selling scooters in India, its Territory Sales Manager Jenner Rajkumar told reporters here.

With commencement of operation at the Hero Centre of Global Innovation and R&D at Jaipur in Rajasthan by 2016 third quarter, it is looking at fast tracking the development of its innovation led portfolio, he said.
Rajkumar said Maestro Edge and Duet, manufactured by indigenous technology, launched about a month ago, are available across the country.
