India’s defence sector is under scrutiny after Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) filed a complaint over alleged forged test reports linked to the Tejas Mk1A fighter aircraft programme. According to details shared by Sagay Raj of India Today, HAL discovered discrepancies during an audit of components supplied by a vendor involved in manufacturing parts for the indigenous fighter jet. The company allegedly submitted nearly 199 test reports that are now under investigation for forgery. HAL has reportedly withheld payments and initiated legal action, with an FIR registered in the matter. The development raises questions about quality assurance processes within critical defence manufacturing supply chains while authorities continue their investigation into the alleged violations.
