Three Blockbuster Listings in a Falling Market: What Should Investors Do Next?

The stock market may be witnessing a downturn, but three IPOs defied the odds today, delivering exceptional returns to investors. Vishal Mega Mart, Mobikwik, and Sai Life Sciences made stellar market debuts, with Mobikwik hitting fresh intraday record highs and Sai Life Sciences surging an impressive 37%. Amid this excitement, questions arise: What should investors who secured allotments do? Should those eyeing these stocks at current prices dive in or wait for better opportunities? At Close, Vishal Mega Mart was at ₹111.9, Up 43%, Mobikwik was at ₹528, up 89% and Sai LIfe ended 39% higher at ₹765.

Avinash Gorakshakar, Head of Research at Profitmart Securities, offers key insights:

1. Vishal Mega Mart stands out as a top pick. Operating in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the company boasts robust fundamentals, including 13-14% EBITDA margins, a debt-free balance sheet, and a strong cash flow model. Despite trading at a 40% premium to its IPO price, Gorakshakar believes there’s further value for long-term investors, especially with potential margin and sales growth.

2. Mobikwik, often compared to a "younger sibling of Paytm," impressed investors with its profitability and financial turnaround. After initial delays in going public, the company’s improved performance attracted strong demand. While some profit-booking is expected due to its meteoric rise from an IPO price of ₹278 to over ₹530, Mobikwik remains a promising fintech play for long-term portfolios.

3. Sai Life Sciences also delivered solid gains, reflecting strong investor interest.

Avinash Gorakshakar advises caution for fresh buyers, suggesting investors wait for better entry points if prices consolidate further. For those already holding these stocks, the long-term potential remains strong, provided fundamentals stay intact.
