Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India, told Business Today’s Chetan Bhutani that the Korean carmaker will invest ₹45,000 crore in India to strengthen its product lineup and manufacturing base. The company plans to introduce 26 new models by 2030, with a sharp focus on SUVs and upcoming electric vehicles. Garg said consumer preferences are rapidly shifting from hatchbacks to compact SUVs like Venue, which continues to drive Hyundai’s volume growth. The company’s next big technological leap will be in the EV segment, with its first locally produced electric vehicle expected to hit the market in 2027.
