Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Unveils Quick GST Registration Reform

From 1st November 2025, India’s GST registration process will become significantly faster and simpler. The new NIRS system allows automatic registration within three working days for applicants identified through data analysis and those whose output tax liability does not exceed ₹2.5 lakh per month. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that this reform will benefit 96% of new taxpayers. She also emphasised the need for well-staffed GST Seva Kendras, dedicated help desks, and timely resolution of recurring issues through CPGrams to enhance the taxpayer experience
