Bajaj Auto sales rise marginally, stock falls nearly 2 per cent

Bajaj Auto on Wednesday reported a marginal increase in its total sales in October at 3,56,168 units as against 3,52,822 units in the same month last year.
The company recorded a 5 per cent increase in its domestic motorcycle sales and 1 per cent increase in overall sales according to a BSE filing.
Shares of Bajaj Auto stock fell 1.90 per cent to Rs 2771 on the BSE.
The stock which opened at 2,802 level hit a high of 2812 and low of 2771 level in early trade.
Total motorcycle sales during the month declined marginally to 3,07,892 units as against 3,08,733 units in October last year, the company said in a statement.
Bajaj Auto's commercial vehicles sales during the month stood at 48,276 units as compared with 44,089 units in the year-ago period, up 9.49 per cent.
Its exports in October this year were at 1,17,387 units as against 1,27,645 units in the same month last year, down 8 cent, the company said.
The stock recovered in the afternoon session and closed 0.25 per cent lower on the BSE.
