Actresses who debuted with Salman Khan but could not sustain Bollywood stardom

Debuting opposite Salman Khan sounds like a dream Bollywood launch. But history shows that a big first film does not always guarantee long-term stardom, especially for actresses trying to stay in the top heroine league.

Bhagyashree became a national sensation with Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989. But after the blockbuster, she stepped away from the regular Bollywood race and chose a very different personal and professional path.

Nagma began her Bollywood career opposite Salman Khan in Baaghi in 1990. The film worked, but she could not build a long Hindi-film run and later found stronger success in South Indian and Bhojpuri cinema.

Chandni made her debut opposite Salman Khan in Sanam Bewafa. The film became a hit, but the early attention did not turn into sustained mainstream Bollywood stardom for her in the years that followed.

Bhumika Chawla became widely recognised after Tere Naam. She was already active in South cinema, but despite the film’s popularity, she could not recreate the same lead-heroine impact in Bollywood.

Sneha Ullal made her debut with Salman Khan in Lucky: No Time for Love. She drew huge attention even before release, but the film’s response and later projects did not help her become a lasting Bollywood star.

Zareen Khan debuted with Salman in Veer, while Daisy Shah became his leading lady in Jai Ho. Both got major visibility, but neither could turn that launch into a long, dominant Bollywood lead-heroine career.
